Acupuncture

Dr. Loucks completed her Functional Integrated Acupuncture Certification at McMaster University. Our clinic provides safe and effective treatment that emphasizes painless needling techniques with optional integration of electro acupuncture; patient depending.

Functional Integrative Acupuncture is a westernized approach to more traditional forms of acupuncture. Acupuncture works by releasing endorphins (natural pain killers in the body), as well as reducing muscle spasms and increasing blood flow to tissues that are damaged. Functional Integrative Acupuncture aims to reduce pain and restore function to muscles and nerves of the body by stimulating a neurological effect on the tissues which are stimulated by the acupuncture needles.

Acupuncture can help a variety of conditions which include but are not limited to:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Headaches
  • Low Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Muscular strains
  • Ligament Sprains
  • Meniscal Injuries
